London Geothermal installs and services ground-source heat pumps for homeowners across Sarnia and Lambton County. Sarnia sits in the off-gas rural belt where propane and oil heating are common, which makes it a sweet spot for the Ontario Home Renovation Savings rebate of up to $12,000. Sarnia Geothermal Questions
Is Sarnia a good area for geothermal?
Yes. Many Sarnia and Lambton County homes sit off the natural gas grid and heat with propane or oil, which is exactly where ground-source heat pumps and the provincial rebates pay off fastest.
What rebate can a Sarnia homeowner get for geothermal?
Up to $12,000 through the Ontario Home Renovation Savings Program, plus up to $15,000 through Oil-to-Heat-Pump Affordability if you currently heat with oil and meet the income limits.
Can a vertical loop work on a smaller Sarnia lot?
Yes. Where a Sarnia or Point Edward property is too tight for horizontal trenching, we drill vertical boreholes straight down, which needs only a small footprint and still reaches the constant earth temperature for full heating and cooling.
How does geothermal handle Sarnia's humid lake summers?
The same WaterFurnace unit that heats in winter reverses to cool and dehumidify in summer, dumping heat into the cool earth through the loop, which is far more efficient than a conventional air conditioner working against hot, humid lake air.
Can a ground-source system replace my propane heating?
Yes. A correctly sized unit carries the full heating load off the constant earth temperature, so Sarnia-area homes can drop the propane tank and its delivery fees for good while gaining cooling from the same system.
